CREATE A NAMED SCHOLARSHIP
Upakar Foundation provides an opportunity for donors to designate a named scholarship. Establishing a scholarship provides a naming opportunity that is wonderful way to honor people, places or organizations who have had a major impact on your life.
A named scholarship can be established with a $8,000 donation. The donation can be received in one lump sum or over 2 years. Please note, if the $8,000 is not fully funded in 2 years the donation will be move to the General Fund.

VOLUNTEER
We are a 100% volunteer-run organization and would love to have you join our team! We are looking for long-term and short-term volunteers to help us with events, fundraising, website content development, partnership development and other areas of our work. Here is a list of our current board members.

JOIN OUR BOARD
Our board members are all volunteers, each with a different set of responsibilities. Currently we seek board members who have an interest in event planning, fundraising, developing regional chapters across the US and helping to promote Upakar through our website and our partners. We ask those who seek to join our board to actively volunteer with us for six months before we vote to include them on the board (all new board members must have the approval of a majority of current members to join the board). There are specific roles and responsibilities for board members, which will be shared with you once you join us as a volunteer.

START A REGIONAL CHAPTER
Upakar is currently in the process of creating regional chapters across the US. Although the headquarters is based in Washington DC, Upakar has always supported scholars across the country. Our scholars hail from 28 different states, and they attend colleges and universities across the US. To promote Upakar in areas outside of Washington DC, we seek volunteers who are interested in starting a regional chapter.
